The Best Vegan Restaurants in Sacramento (2026 Guide)

As a vegan animal sanctuary, we often get asked, “What are some great plant-based restaurants to try in Sac?!” 

So, we compiled a list of some of our favorite vegan and vegan-friendly restaurants in the area— that we’ve tried so far! 🥳 Let us know if we missed any of your favorites!

From the mountains of Tibet to the soul food of the South, and from fast food to fine dining, Sacramento has an amazing variety of plant-based options for every craving and every occasion.

Without further ado, and in no particular order, here are some of our favorite vegan restaurants in Sacramento: 

Himalaya Vegan Organic

Cuisine: Healthy, Macrobiotic and Buddhist-inspired

Food: So colorful, nourishing, and bursting with flavor! And huge portions too! The plate of the day changes daily and features a wonderful assortment of whole grains, beans, fresh salad, steamed greens, and stir-fried veggies with the most flavorful and delicious sauces and seasonings—as well as a side of the best soup I’ve ever had! They also offer delicious fresh smoothies, juices, and “cheesecake”-style pies for dessert!

Ambience: Very friendly and welcoming, peaceful, and relaxing. Big windows let in lots of natural light, and complementary tea, soothing music, and footage of the Himalayas make it the perfect spot to take a pause and enjoy some amazing food and company!

El Cantaro Vegan Taqueria

Cuisine: Mexican

Food: Very authentic, huge selection, and truly satisfying, flavorful, and delicious! From enchiladas to soft tacos, from beans and rice to vegan steak and chik’n, El Cantaro does it all amazingly!

Ambience: Very friendly and welcoming, with uplifting music and lots of seating options; perfect for a family gathering!

Noble Vegetarian

Cuisine: Asian-Inspired

Food: Huge selection, and everything is so flavorful and satisfying! Huge portions, too! From appetizers to noodle stir-fries to soups and curries, Noble Vegetarian is sure to satisfy with every mouthwatering dish! Perfect for sharing dishes with a group, too!

Ambience: Very popular in the evenings, so expect company! But there’s lots of seating available, and each booth feels cozy and private! Truly lovely!

Vegan Deadly Sins (& Boba!)

Cuisine: Chinese

Food: Also a huge menu, very flavorful, and big portions! The boba especially is amazing and so refreshing, especially in summer—whether you prefer coffee milk tea or a more fresh and fruity drink! 

Ambience: Very friendly, lots of seating, and beautiful faux plant and flower arrangements, as well as lots of One Piece posters! A very fun place!

Buffalo Pizza & Ice Cream (**Vegan Options)

Cuisine: Pizza

Food: They have quite a range of vegan pizzas: from loaded veggie and plant-based meat, to pesto, Hawaiian, and buffalo chik’n, there’s something for everyone! The crust is amazing, the vegan cheese is plentiful, and the flavors are so delicious! They also offer Oatly ice cream and vegan sorbets. The perfect spot when you have a pizza craving!

Ambience: Seating is limited and wait times can be long, so ordering ahead can be helpful, but service is great and food is delicious!

Buddha Belly Burger

Cuisine: Burgers, bowls, & more

Food: Everything is super flavorful and well crafted, from starters like fried maha mushrooms with sriracha mayo, to classic burgers or mushroom burgers and fries, to fresh noodle and Buddha bowls! They also have fun drinks like strawberry kiwi iced tea, blueberry pineapple lemonade, and fresh pressed juices.

Ambience: Very friendly, lots of seating, and beautiful lighting and plant decor!

Village of OM

Cuisine: Sushi

Food: They have an extensive menu of all-vegan sushi rolls and platters, and everything is truly mind-blowing! They have such beautiful plating and amazing flavor & texture combos that make every bite a party in your mouth and leave you dreaming about your meal for weeks to come!

Ambience: Very upscale, great service, and fancy fine-dining vibes. Low mood lighting, lots of seating, and beautiful interior design & decorating! It’s a popular spot, so reservations are recommended, especially on weekends and special occasions.

Veg Cafe

Cuisine: A wide variety!

Food: A seasonal menu highlighting local produce has something for everyone: from brunch classics like French toast, latkes, and chik’n and waffles; to lunch and dinner options like salads, gnocchi, taquitos, and curry— as well as desserts like cheesecake and sundaes! The portion sizes can vary from small to large, depending on the dish, but everything is very flavorful and fancy!

Ambience: Friendly service, beautiful rotating local art, and cute whimsical decor! They can get suuperr busy, so reservations are recommended!

Thai Basil (**Vegan Options)

Cuisine: Thai

Food: They have a separate seasonal vegan menu, as well as regular menu items that can be made vegan! Their noodles, curries, tofu dishes, vegan cheesecakes, and more are so good and rich and flavorful!

Ambience: Very friendly, great service, lots of indoor and outdoor seating, and beautiful decor!


Babe’s Ice Cream & Donuts

Cuisine: Desserts

Food: They have classic and unique new ice cream flavors each month, as well as a wide selection of cake donuts, churros, and donut holes! You can also grab a coffee or make your ice cream order into a shake! Super good and so fun to try everything!

Ambience: Very friendly, typical ice cream shop! Seating is limited, though: there’s bar-style seating indoors and one or two small cafe tables outside.

Plant Power

Cuisine: Fast Food

Food: They have a great selection of burgers, fries and onion rings, sauces, salads, wraps, shakes, and more! Everything is very tasty and realistic; perfect for any fast food craving!

Ambience: Lots of light and space, and plenty of seating inside and on their lovely outdoor patio, too! You can order at the kiosk or through their app. In my experience, they sometimes make mistakes on orders, so check your food before you leave!

Soul of the Soil Kitchen

(**pop-ups and catering)

Cuisine: Southern/Soul

Food: Everything is super flavorful and so realistic! I’ve never had vegan ribs as good as these!! They use healthy ingredients like jackfruit and mushrooms to make vegan versions of classics like fried chik’n, “ribs,” collard greens, yams, mac n cheeze, cornbread, and more, and the dipping sauces are amazing too! 

Ambience: Very friendly, a bit pricier than I expected, and can take a minute to prepare your order, but so worth it! They also sell out every time, so if you’re lucky enough to catch them at an event, go early! They also offer various catering packages.


Revolution Winery & Kitchen (**Vegan Options)

Cuisine: A wide variety!

Food: They have a great selection of vegan options on the menu, which changes seasonally to feature all the fresh local produce Sacramento has to offer. All the flavors are absolutely amazing, from crispy bread with savory dips, to loaded falafel salads, vegan burgers, pastas, and decadent desserts, as well as handcrafted wines made on-site!

Ambience: Very friendly and fancy service, and there’s lots of seating available inside or on their beautiful outdoor patio! They can get busy, so reservations are recommended!

As you can see, the vegan restaurant options in Sacramento are amazing and endless! You really can’t go wrong with any of these—and it truly goes to show that eating plant-based can be so easy, healthy, and delicious, as well as kind! 💗
